Malta Male Cancer Awareness is a Facebook page that was launched in Jan 2013 by a cancer patient after having noticed that there was very little awareness of cancer in males here in Malta.
The scope is to create cancer awareness among males, to encourage others to talk more openly about it and to ultimately help out, because by doing so, lives can be saved. The more we are knowledgeable about cancer, the more we can prevent certain types & detect others in early stages. Fact: 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Catching it in its early stages before it has spread is vital because it increases the likelihood of a full recovery.
This Facebook page relies on getting information across from reliable sources, websites & other cancer related Facebook pages & whilst its focus is 'male cancer', it should appeal to everybody. The aim will be to share articles related to different types of male cancers; how & if it can be prevented, lifestyle choices, what to look out for, what to ask your doctor & how to deal with the situation if you are going through it.
